Hello and welcome to Gypsy Rova!
I’m Cushla, a travel and photography mad creative entrepreneur currently living in Auckland with my husband, two rescue cats and ever growing number of houseplants. I left my native New Zealand in my late teens with my backpack, passport and camera and I’ve been travelling ever since.
Over the years I’ve worked as a flight attendant and travel agent and have been lucky enough to visit 46 countries to date. I’ve spent half of my life based abroad, so I no longer call any one country home. Amongst my favourite adventures were six months teaching swimming in the USA, horseback riding with The Navajo in Monument Valley, a few years soaking up the sun on Australia’s Sunshine Coast, and jetting my way around the world as Cabin Crew based in the Middle East. Now that I’m based in Scotland, I still like to get away to Europe and further afield as much as possible to satisfy my wanderlust, passion for photography, need for sunshine and love of good food and wine.
I started Gypsy Rova as a way to share advice for female travellers, travel hacks and tips, stories and photography. Thanks for stopping by – I hope that you find something that brings some inspiration and escapism to your day!
